XT vs Vodafone on iPad
I have blogged about how XT is way faster than Vodafone on several occasions. This particularity applies in areas outside of the major metro areas (since Vodafone drops to 2G there for the iPad, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs).
Anyway, someone has done a nice wee video test of it and put it on YouTube.
I think the better part of each test is the real word usage with an App. The speed test is useful to show how much difference there is, but at the end of the day we use Apps in everyday life, not downloading 1meg test files
Black and White Version: As we knew, XT rocks on the iPad.

What entertainment this is. I myself was a customer of vodafones for about 10 years and in that time things certainly went down hill at the speed of lightning. I jumped to Telecom taking my number with me just to twist the knife that little bit more. Funny thing was I had warned them 18 months prior that I would jump yet they never did anything to try and prove that they were the better option. I did a test of my own twice, the first time last year before the hands free law took affect and this year, the second test was to see if vodafone did anything about a problem that they were aware of and that is black spots. You see where I live there is a strip of road that runs for miles around the coast and being the fact that I was in a job that required me to drive along that piece of road on a regular basis and the network that the company ran the software for the pda’s on and the work phones were vodafone it made things interesting if I broke down or was injured. I held 2 identical 3g phones 1 telecom xt and vodafone on the way round vodafone bottomed (no coverage) 4 times and yet telecom stayed strong the lowest the coverage bars dropped was 50% still good considering the alternative. Before I jumped to Telecom I rang vodafone and questioned them about this coverage issue and they told me that they were aware of it and that they did not plan to fix the issue in the foreseeable future. Talk about We don’t not give a crap about our customers we just want their money. I also found their customer service to be atrocious, I never ever got through to New Zealand it was always that obnoxious call centre in Egypt, they are rude, obnoxious and do not know what they doing even I could do their jobs better than them as I have worked in a call centre and know what customer service is. I ended up having anxiety attacks every time I phoned them as a result of the stress that Egypt caused. That call centre tried blaming me for a sim card issue that had nothing to do with me it was vodafone and their inability to produce anything of acceptable quality. Since being on the Telecom XT network I have not had one problem that I did with vodafone. I am glad to be rid of what I call a persons nightmare.
