1st Bike ride post
As you may know, I ride motorbikes, owning two bikes (a 2007 Red Daytona 675 Sports Bike and a 2008 Blue Kawasaki KLR 650 Dual Purpose bike).
Anyway, I thought I would post ride details from time to time. Each ride post will vary, but I will try to maintain some consistency by showing a map, some commentary on where were went, and what the roads were like, and how good the coffee was at each stop (that’s important!). Oh, and what bike I rode.
For this post I will just say click on the map below for details, I rode the Daytona 675 (the red sports bike), with the following notes:
- Coffee in Hororata was good, with AWESOME service (a must). Great home made citrus slice.
- Coffee in Geraldine was OK (avg service, a bit sterile)
- Coffee in Rakaia was great – and cool venue (if not a bit touristy). Yummy caramel slice too!
Weather was threatening to rain for 3/4 of the trip, but only got 10 seconds of almost “mist” once. Ended up blue skys the last hour home. YAY!
Nice roads (goodish condition), and hardly any cars (except for the short bit on State Highway one around Rakaia – hence why we get off SH1 when we can). Will post more details in future posts.
Black and White Version: I went for a ride to Horoata, Geraline and Rakaia and had coffee while it almost rained.
PS: In case you are wondering, the fact that the blue line on the map squiggles slightly on and off the road doesn’t mean I did some off-road riding, or was drunk or anything so exciting. It just means my drawing skills with a mouse need refinement
